Mommy Warbucks Sez: Teaching Ain't A Real Job!

Zsa Zsa Gabor-sounding, self-proclaimed saucy-African-American and professional Senator's wife, Teresa [I'm keeping my deceased husband's name to remind John that he's living off someone else's money - just like me] Kerry insulted a traditional Democrat herd group - the teacher's unions - by saying in a USA Today interview that Laura Bush hasn't had a real job.

Laura Bush worked as a public school teacher and librarian for 9 years.

Hillary Clinton may've been a scheming enabler who terrorized the White House staff and exploited her husband's weaknesses as a latter day Lady MacBeth to reap power for herself, but she wasn't THAT politically tone deaf as First Lady, was she?

UPDATE: Mommy Warbucks, probably feeling the harsh sting of the proletariat, issued a retraction:

"I had forgotten that Mrs. Bush had worked as a school teacher and librarian, and there couldn't be a more important job than teaching our children. As someone who has been both a full time mom and full time in workforce, I know we all have valuable experiences that shape who we are. I appreciate and honor Mrs. Bush's service to the country as First Lady, and am sincerely sorry I had not remembered her important work in the past."

I wonder how many lashes the whipping boy will get tonight for her having to enjoy a Crowburger?

Dirk, you're a fucking moron.

Not only that, but the way Mr. Anonymous tore apart my arguments in such minute detail, exhibiting an exacting precision of thought and nuance, leaves me questioning whether I should attempt to carry on since I'm clearly no match for his towering intellect. Such dilemnas are these...

Dirk -- No such word as "dilemna." Like I said, you're a fucking moron. Case closed....

"The spirit of Shakespeare lives."
--------------------------------

If Shakespeare were alive today, he'd be writing tragedies on the regime of George W. Bush. Would make the Richard and Henry plays look tame by comparison. Shakespeare was a liberal of his time and if he looked at this blodg, I'm sure he'd have but one comment: "What fools these mortals be..."

But there is such a word as "typo" and if you type too quickly before having your coffee, you may find yourself in a dilemma, such as, should you continue to allow Anonymous comments that allow angry, unhinged asstacklers to exhibit their limited vocabularies from the cover of darkness or stifle discourse? Hmmm...what to do?

Of course, the fact that he/she/it (probably a he who envies my utter manliness compared to his nub) keeps coming back to witness my perfection (Unreal Tournament reference) shows that as much as he apparently loathes me, he just can't stop fantasizg about how things could be in a perfect world where all love could speak its name.

Sorry, Bub - I just dig the chicks too much. (Love your shoes, though.)

You're telling me it's "a typo" when you only had to hit the same key twice? As in "m-m"? Admit it, Dirkster, you didn't know how to spell it. Either that or not only are you a moron, but you're extremely uncordinated as well.

Anonymous said...

Oops! I meant uncoordinated...Guess I'm guilty of a "typo" as well. Whatever the case, I knew it would boil down to the size of your "manliness."

---Now that you've finished channeling Shakespeare for us, are there any other dead, historical figures you'd like to claim as members of the Army of Compassion? How about Gandi? Eleanor Roosevelt? Marx? Either Groucho or Karl?---

Hey, you're the one who brought up Shakepeare in the first place, unaware that I have an M.A. in English Lit from MSU with an empahsis on Shakespeare. Disregarding that your post makes absolutely no sense (talk about "pandering while confusing"), I'd claim all five of them as members of that Army...plus, I'd know the proper spelling of "Gandi" before I used it in attempt to make myself appear more intelligent.

---Shakespeare was a liberal of his timeShakespeare's talent was in entertaining while educating not pandering while confusing.---

What?!? Not sure what this means but I'll take a stab: Actually, theatre people were looked down upon during Shakespeare's time. He may have been trying to entertain but I don't think education was part of his conscious agenda(much like George W. Bush)during his time at the Globe. But there was certainly a lot of compassion, not to mention a liberal and anti-war agenda, in most of his work. Have you ever read any of it?

Hey, Allen -- You're a fucking moron, too. (BTW: Anonymous from Lansing -- who studied Shakespeare for two terms in London -- actually teaches these days in Los Angeles). Have a nice day.

If you two are gonna keep at this, could you please take it under the sprinklers and get some hair-pulling going, please? Thank you.

I'm finding it a tad frightening that someone allegedly with a college degree and a teaching gig is incapable of rhetoric beyond "you're a fucking moron". I graduated in the bottom 20% of my high school class and so far, my largest trangression has been to inadequately proofread. If anything, Mr. Anonymous is proof that higher education has curve-graded itself into irrelevance.

If someone were asked to read these comments and rank the level of education of the writers, why am I certain they'd have it exactly backwards?

Actually, Dirk, if they read your various posts here and on the Velvet Rope, there'd be no question regarding the differences in education. To use an old cliche, if the shoe fits...and, I'm sorry, but both you and Allen come off as stone-cold fucking morons. When one of your wingnut idols -- that would be our current VP -- told a member of congress to "Go fuck himself!" on the floor of the Capitol building, did that have to do with his level of education? Answer that one, my right-wing moron friends... (BTW: I teach at a major university, just fyi...)

>>>On the way to that MA in English Lit did you happen to take any classes in logic?

Of course. I also learned how to spell contractions, as in "weren't," NOT "were'nt"...

>>>The reason I ask is that if you're going to ding the VP for using the "F" word then you and John "Effing" Kerry get tarred with the same brush. You were'nt, by chance, trying to highlight a similarity between yourself and the VP were you?

No, I was just trying to point out the hypocrisy of the wingnuts on this page, all of whom are preaching to the choir. I would never try to "highlight a similarity between" myself and the VP. For one thing, I have a sense of morality and ethics. But to quote your conquering hero: Why don't you go fuck yourself.

>>>Of course you teach at a major university. So do I when I'm not frustrating the evil designs of brilliant yet warped geniuses who are bent on conquering the Earth and enslaving all humanity.

>>>Some times I'm not sure which is the more difficult and thankless job. At least as a superhero I get to wear cool tights. I look great in 'em and the chicks love it.

Thank you for what appears to be an attempt at "humor." If you're ever near UCLA, stop in and see me, OK?
