Thursday Morning Coffee

It's been crap week alright. First, the bank insanely rejects our house bid (they're operating under the delusion that the place is worth $100K more than our offer); then work has been ridiculous and as a result, I'm brain-fried. Instead of doing more of my writing and redesigning the web site the customer is starting to get whiny about, I decided to veg out and play some video games, which leads to my first topic...

MY STUPID XBOX 360 IS ASKING TO BE KILLED!!! Against my better judgement, I decided to play some DOA4 and as usual, I got whupped royally by the computer - long-time readers have seen me complain about how brutally hard this iteration is - but after a miserable 45 minutes, I finally beat the end boss and when the screen went to black to play the end cinematic...IT STAYED BLACK!!!! WTF?!?!?!? My 360 was dead - no red ring, but not doing anything. So, I shut it off, restarted it, loaded the game and, yep, it showed no trace of my victory and no extra costume was unlocked for the guy I was working. Pathetic!!!

WEIRD SPAM FIGHTING - aka "SCAMBAITING": I'd never heard of such a thing, but this looks vaguely amusing. (h/t The Corner)

DIRK'S DISH DU JOUR: Since she was one of the two toughest opponents in my futile DOA4 effort last night, today's DDDJ is Ayane, here seen in DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball.

Yes, I am a geek. :)
