McCain Classy In Defeat; Obama Arrogant In Victory.

A lot of people leery of McCain suspected that he was willing to "lose with honor" rather than actually fight the evil that Obama and the fascist Democrats represented. I called him out on this that if he didn't properly highlight Obama's close ties to radicals, racists and criminals, his life of service to country, which he is so proud of, would be for naught for defeat would usher in an age of darkness for the world. Well, mission not accomplished means no soup for you, John.

However, his concession speech was a thing of grace from a bygone and now lost age. Whenever the crowd started to boo, he sternly hushed them up, and he pledged his support to the new President with a sincerity that comes from being a true patriot (plus being more comfortable cuddling with the Dems.)

Mark Levin wrote:

John McCain just gave a classy concession speech. If McCain had won, we were told of possible riots.
That's a telling note. With a million people crowded into Grant Park and a nation of people told that they are victims unless liberal fascists are empowered to rob the producers to give to the moochers, there was a fear that riots would recreate 1968. (I wonder how many are disappointed that they didn't get to tear things up?)

In contrast, Obama was robotic and soulless. This cat isn't "cool", he's smug and arrogant. With a million people in front of him, he delivered a dour, sour campaign speech which steadfastly looked backwards and kicked Dubya in the shins for good measure. When he tried to get the chants of "Seig Heil", er, "Yes, we can!" going, it showed that 20 years in the pews of Jerimiah Wright's racist church didn't teach him much about rhetorical abilities.

Obi-Wan Kenobi said that, "the Force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded," and that's my problem with the ninnies who are literally dampening their panties over this tabula rasa of a Rorschach test: There is literally no THERE there. I feel like I've taken crazy pills because people are acting as if the sun has finally risen after eight years and all over a false Messiah who has accomplished nothing but to bamboozle them into projecting their fondest wishes upon him and them worship him blindly.

Most of them are like this woman:

They think they've just won a free Xbox in a fast food scratch-and-win contest. They're jumping up and down thinking their time has come and they'll matter. They have no idea what they've just voted for because even when brainwashed by professors and the media, most people don't willingly vote themselves into slavery.

Hard times ahead.

Surprise! Media Coverage of McCain Is Negative!

The Washington Post admits the obvious:

Media coverage of John McCain has been heavily unfavorable since the political conventions, more than three times as negative as the portrayal of Barack Obama, a new study says.

Fifty-seven percent of the print and broadcast stories about the Republican nominee were decidedly negative, the Project for Excellence in Journalism says in a report out today, while 14 percent were positive. The McCain campaign has repeatedly complained that the mainstream media are biased toward the senator from Illinois.

Obama's coverage was more balanced during the six-week period from Sept. 8 through last Thursday, with 36 percent of the stories clearly positive, 35 percent neutral or mixed and 29 percent negative.

McCain has struggled during this period and slipped in the polls, which is one of the reasons for the more negative assessments by the 48 news outlets studied by the Washington-based group. But the imbalance is striking nonetheless.
They try to attenuate the bias by implying that McCain's slippage in the polls is the driving force - no one's fault if there's bad news to report, right? - but that ignores the deliberate attempts to spin and smear McCain and Palin and the active cover-ups of Obama's myriad alliances with radicals, racists, and terrorists. Why is the media digging into Joe the Plumber's life when all he did was ask a question? Is ANYONE allowed to challenge the Obamessiah? If you think the coverage is slanted now, wait until Fuhrer Obama has the power to shut down any media outlet that criticizes him! Can you say "zero percent negative stories about Obama?" I knew you could!

McCain vs. Obama - Round Three....FIGHT!!!

Live-blogging and updating has necessary...

• McCain has mentioned that the public is angry four times in the first 20 seconds of his reply. He has also mentioned the usual greed stuff. He starts to mention FreddieMae but misses a chance to pin it on the Dems. I need a drink. O is looking into the camera - will Chris Matthews complain? O's smooth talk is pap, but smooth pap. McCain seems jittery.

Oh, jeez...he starts to talk about the plumber who O told wanted to "spread the wealth around" and then DOESN'T MENTION THAT!!! Obama slipped up and let his Marxist heart show and Mc couldn't tag him for it. O tells the "95% get a tax cut" lie. Whew! Mc mentions it! Come on, pull it together, Mc! Hmmm...O mentions Warren Buffet, Mc says "we're talking about Joe the plumber." O is rambling. McC mentions high business tax rates here vs. Ireland.

• Next topic: crazy high deficit projected - Obama is now talking to Bob Schieffer. Chris Matthews will approve. McC totally switches to home ownership. When BS (initials, not a comment) tries to get him on the topic, he goes somewhere else, then he gets back on the topic. He's not hitting the easy marks. It's disjointed. I can see the lyrics, but am not hearing the music. Who gave Mc the Red Bull. O keeps talking about making programs that work. Yaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnnn.... O mentions Dubya's deficits. DUBYA AIN'T RUNNING FOR ANYTHING!!!! McCain looks straight at Obama and says, "I'm not President Bush. If you wanted to run against him, you should've run four years ago." SICK BURN!!! That's going to be on the highlight reel. He challenges O to name something he's stood against his party on. O is prepared with a list of lies. Will Mc call him on it. O slams Fox News and gets a titter. He tries to tie Mc to Dubya again. Mc breaks into BS's moving on Biden-style. He's starting to get into a groove. Where was this guy in the last two debates.

• Topic: Tone of campaign and will they diss each other to their faces - Mc calls O out on town halls. Calls out the John Lewis smears. Calls out the O's flip-flop on public financing. O says nothing of substance. He doesn't apologize and then yanks his pull-string and says we don't need more Bush policies. McC calls out O's ads lying about health care, stem cells, and immigration. O lies about the isolated yells at Palin events. O is trying to triangulate it. His halo is starting to dim, perhaps? O is starting to look annoyed. No one f*cks with the Messiah! He's frowning. He stammers out some talking points. This is the first solid punch I've seen Mc land on O in all of these.

• OOOOOHHHH!!! Mc says, "I don't care about some old washed-up terrorist." and then mentions ACORN's vote fraud and O's payoffs to them. Nice. O comes back with the "Annenberg is a Republican so how could I possibly be a terrorist" and denies he had anything to do with the shenanigans. He then transitions into a smooth rap about his bipartisan advisers. McC says we need to know about his associations - DUH!!! - but leaves Wright out. Will the Treason Media carry this lie forward or start reporting on these issues? Just kidding!!!

• Who's got the better veep? O makes Biden sound like Joe Six Pack and then runs off the talking points. Jeez, it's like listening to Sean Hannity. Mc says nice things about Moose-Slayer. (Who woudda thunk it?) Mc slams Biden's chronic wrongness on just about everything. Again, WHERE WAS THIS GUY IN THE LAST TWO DEBATES? Hit's O on wanting to spend more on everything.

• Next: ManBearPig (ugh) - Mc gets a good list of goals off. O is back to pissing off Chris Matthews by looking into the camera. He then strings off a bunch of manure. McC backhands O's "eloquence" and then points out the BS in his rap. Mentions Columbia Free Trade agreement and how Obama opposed it even though it was a Clinton-era pact. Misses an opportunity to tie Reid and Pelosi to this issue. Grrrrr! O mumbles something about trade union organizing. Misspeaks saying, "need someone to enforce UNFAIR trade agreements" - will anyone say he's getting senile? Just kidding! O then rambles about cars and stuff. Is anyone following this? McC pops him on the Columbia deal again. Calls him a trade restrictionist and tax-raiser. Another megaton dropped on The One.

• Topic: Health care - Sorry, I'm working on my desktop at the same time and didn't get all the discourse noted. Obama slammed the hard-to-follow tax aspects of McCain's plan - which IS easy to demagogue - but McCain didn't have a straight explanation of how O was lying. Missed opportunity. O keeps saying "you've heard my plan" - but who cares if it's lies?

• Topic: Abortion - McCain talks about judges. This is a first in these debates. Will he mention O's determination to make infanticide as the law of the land? O stammers something meaningless and then mentions the Lilly Ledbetter equal-pay suit. The facts are that the woman worked for YEARS fully aware that she was making less but waited to sue. Snooze = lose. OMG! Mc is mentioning Obama's infanticide stance. O flat out lies that he did. This has been debunked, but will Mc call him on it here now? Will he mention the Freedom of Choice Act (may have name wrong) he's promised to make his first priority? O is trying to seem moderate. He's not! He is as anti-life as it gets. (Read this for a scathing indictment of his true stripes. I've been meaning to get that up on it's own post.) McCain could've really put a stake in him here, but doesn't go for the kill. Still, he brought it, though O may've slicked his way out of it.

• Education is the last topic. Snore. O wants to spend more money. Mc wants more parent choice. O is stumbling again and Mc gets a nice slap in.

• Final statements: Mc said something. O said something. It was all canned and I was busy looking up a domain name.

• The winner? JOE THE PLUMBER! The guy whom Obama told he wanted to spread his wealth around was name-checked about 500 times. Don't bother rushing to register www.joetheplumber.com - I just checked and it was taken a year ago. Nice call, Nostradamus. (Tom Brokaw agrees.)

• Real debate winner? John McCain. If this McCain had shown up before, a lot of people would be a lot happier.

• Bob Schieffer did a good job and didn't grandstand like Tom Brokaw did.

• Treason Media Spin Patrol - Chuck Todd (NBC hack) said that McCain played to his base (which is bad, natch) and The One played to the middle. Brokaw looks angry, meaning McCain won. Over to CBS, the perky Katie Couric is talking to a panel of pandas, er, undecided voters. A black man says that McCain came off more Presidential. (SELLLOUT!!!) A cracker guy says he was impressed by McCain. This will not please our overlords!!!

NBC's panel of six pandas were asked who was stronger on the economy and it broke 3 O, 2 undecided, 1 McC. One woman was disappointed with both of them. Half of them said they knew people who wouldn't vote for The One because he was black, but all said they knew people who wouldn't vote for McCain because of Palin; guess the media jihad to smear her worked. Half are more liking McC vs. one for The One, but one woman said that she was scared of McCain and that Moose-Slayer was a bad decision.

Mitt Romney spins for McCain - He thought Johnny be good. (I'm shocked, SHOCKED!) Mentions all the hard questions Obama had to answer.

Hillary Clinton got the short straw to shill for the usurper. She said the words, but her facial expression was like she wanted to blink "S-O-S" with her eyes. She is not happy. If Obama wins, she'll probably never get to be queen, so she can't really want anything but McCain to win in 19 days.

ABC panel - Dondi Snuffluphagus says McCain did well, but says that Obama's huge money and vote fraud organization will be daunting. George Will is crapping on McCain for not bucking the bailout. Dondi says that would've been suicidal politics.

• On Nightline, Terry Moron, er, Moran smugly spun what happened to Obama's benefit to the surprise of no one. He said McCain looked "tense, on edge" while Obama "smiled cooly". Figuring maybe 50+ million people watched, if only 10% stay up to watch the late news, they'll see ABC News lying to them. Dondi came on and gave good marks to McCain, but toed the "Obama COOL, McCain HOTHEAD" corporate line like the good Democrat partisan hack he is (shots of Obama getting angry are heading straight for the Memory Hole) and made sure to tell us that every time McCain mentioned Ayers, the dial groups marked him down. ORLY? Obama is tight with extreme radicals and the the messenger gets shot? Dondi called all the debates for his side when an objective review shows them score to be 2-0-2 in McCain's favor. The first two Prez matches were draws, Moose-Slayer destroyed Biden, and McCain won tonight. Goebbels Big Lie machine is in overdrive.

Joe Wurzelbacher (aka Joe the Plumber) was called on the phone. He was infuriated that Obama felt justified to steal anyone's wealth and redistribute it, but demurred about who he was going to vote for. Moron, darnit, Moran made a disapproving sound like, "Puny human. Don't you question your betters and Messiah!"

The all-liberal pundits - Matthew Doyd and Donna Brazille - uniformly declared McCain's cause lost because everyone loves and trusts the Obamessiah and he's a loser. They also implored McCain to stop talking all this mean stuff about Ayers and lose like a gentleman and maybe they'll be nice to you again. Not one conservative (or even pseudo-con like David Brooks) was put on the air. What liberal media bias? Pffft.

• Flipped over late to Charlie Rose to see the pitiful David "Palin is a cancer on the GOP" Brooks comparing Obama to a cool mountain that the angry, helpless McCain can fire cannonballs at (his actual words) to little effect. He's hypnotized like so many other weak-minded drones by the brown-eyed handsome man. When the talk turned to other mush-headed nominal "conservatives" who are also entranced by this charlatan. Jeez, how many times can Brooks say "self-control" and "temperament"? "Barack Obama is much better than 'Cats'. He is so cool and well-tempered I'd nibble his nut sack again and again."

With Islamofascists seeking to annihilate Western Civilization and one candidate in firm alliance with domestic terrorists and racists who seek to do the same (albeit for different reasons) and the only thing that matters to these jokers is "who's the cool dude?" They're like junior high school girls giggling over the BMOC. Mark Halperin had to restrain himself from "going overboard about the Power of Obama." BIAS? WHAT LIBERAL MEDIA BIAS?!? HEY!!! Emperor.........no clothes!

Al Hunt is piling on saying that McCain will be sorry to have run such a nasty campaign against The One, but there is still time for him to lie down for the inevitable and possibly receive the warm kiss of media affection in return for his acquiescence. This is more juvenile kiddie bullsh*t: "Why you wanna be that way, John? Everyone is going to hate you unless you be cool, so be cool. We'll be your friend if you do and invite you to the party."

Now they're talking about Obama's ability to hide his craving for power so as not to frighten the peasants with his cravenness. Ummmmm, doesn't this mean they're admitting he's selling a mirage to ignorant (thanks to them) drones? Jeez, someone get them some dietary supplements to help their irony-deficiency. Al Hunt just called it "serenity". These people are clueless and well beyond bias into cultish behavior rivaling Apple lunatics.

• Did you know that Obama still hasn't released his college papers, medical records, or explained his missing years at Columbia? He hasn't. No one is exploring why an unknown, unconnected nobody was a magnet to radical terrorists, racists and criminals. What was it about Barry that made these lowlifes see a ticket to power on his bus?

• Last word goes to the mighty Mark Stein who answers K.Lo's bafflement about snap polls giving Obama credit for the win:

One thing I liked about the Bush/Gore debates is that it was obvious both men loathed each other and they didn't care who knew it. That liberated them, for good and ill.

By contrast, for all the characteristically ponderous huffing from Bob Schieffer about "negative campaigns", McCain was never able to cast aside the Senatorial collegiality and really stick it to Obama. Why couldn't he have used the s-word - "socialism"? Why couldn't he have said that his opponent is a perfectly pleasant fellow but he has an all but blank resume so all we have to go on is his votes and his associations and both suggest a doctrinaire liberal well to the left of, say, Bill Clinton? Why couldn't he have pointed out that Barack Obama would be the most left-wing president ever elected in the United States?

McCain lacked the killer instinct. A man who cheerfully crashes planes and survives years of torture appeared nervous that clobbering his opponent might dent his image as Mister Bipartisan. You look at the way he sneered at Romney in the primary debates and compare it with his tentativeness toward Obama. His reluctance to whack the Democrat wound up, by default, elevating Obama. When a veteran Republican who's been on the national scene for a quarter-century and a Democrat whom nobody had heard of 20 minutes ago appear to be equal in stature, then by definition the Democrat wins.

And that, Kathryn, explains those insta-polls. McCain has no one to blame but himself.
Exactly. The Treason Media is already rewarping the record to match their desired narrative, so everywhere will be spinning this as merely a pit stop to the Era of Obama. The American public is about to blindly vote for a person they don't know the facts about, whom they'd recoil in terror from if they only knew what he had planned for them, and there is small likelihood they'll be clued in before they make a terrible mistake.

Which McCain Will Show? The Bitch-Ass Punk or the Punk-Ass Bitch?

In 20 minutes, the final debate will begin. The deck is massively stacked against McCain and he's got an steep uphill climb even without his pathological tendency to be collegial to those who are stabbing him in the face and calling him names.

The fear is that he will accept losing with honor rather than winning and being called names by a press corps which has also stabbed him in the face and libeled him. If he does, then he will have surrendered in the face of the most crucial mission in his life. That he chose years of brutal torture over freedom will be a sacrifice in vain if he now lays down his arms in a insane attempt to get the Treason Media to say he's a nice guy again.

Moose-Slayer has saved his bacon twice. There will be no third time charm. He fights now or he condemns the country to darkness. Man up, Sailor!

Every Little Thing McCain Does Is Racist!

The box that McCain is in that keeps him from using all the ammo he has against Obama is succinctly toted up by Charles Krauthammer, aka Chuck K (his hip-hop name):

When John McCain runs an ad with a white woman, Paris Hilton in it, he is accused of racism. He runs an ad with Franklin Raines, the former head of Fannie Mae in it, who is African-American, and that's racist. And then he runs an ad with William Ayers, who is a white male in it, and that's racist.

If it weren't so comical, these promiscuous accusations of racism, it would be tragic.

The Obama campaign has been playing the race card over and over again. Look, this is a campaign that in the primaries succeeded in painting Bill Clinton as a racist.

Now, Clinton, with all of his flaws, this is a man who throughout his career from Governor of Arkansas to president of the United States and beyond, has been a great and sincere friend of African-Americans who shared and tried to advance their aspirations. So if you can pull off a trick like that on Bill Clinton, you can pull it off on Republicans.

And look what Obama has said. He's the one who raised the Barack Hussein Obama a year or two ago in which he said the Hussein is actually an asset and would be an asset in dealing with Muslims abroad.

He's the one who openly said that the Republicans will say I'm black, they will say he's scary. They will say he's different. They will say he doesn't look like the guy on the dollar bill.

That is Obama preemptively accusing McCain of racism, which is a scurrilous charge. Racism is a serious charge in our country, and a false accusation is doubly serious. As we saw in the Duke lacrosse case, it can destroy lives. Given our history, it ought to be used with great care.

And to accuse preemptively McCain of racism even before there is any evidence of it, and there has not been any evidence of it before or since, is scurrilous.

They say patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel. Accusations of racism is the last refuge of the liberal scoundrel, and it has been used again and again on the part of the Obama campaign.
Since McCain is gonna get it in the neck no matter what he does, he should just speak truth to fascists. As Bill Adama says, "Sometimes you just have to roll the hard six." As I say, "Fight or GTFO!"

If Obama Can't Keep His Own Secrets, How Safe Are The Nation's?

In case you'd rather watch a hockey game instead of tonight's Kabuki debate, Team Obama has already sent out the spin sheet. Most of it is just plagiarized from the Treason Media's narrative, but since the TM is Goebbels to Obama's Fuhrer, this is to be expected. The best Orwellian bit?

John McCain has been erratic and unsteady since this crisis began - staggering from position to position and trying to change the subject away from the economy by launching false character attacks.
Pointing out - not that McCain has effectively done so; so terrified of his TM pals calling him names he is - the inconvenient truths that Obama has close alliances with terrorists, racists, radicals and felons are "false character attacks"?!? Really?!?

Also love this bit of voodoo economic math that McCain has been too busy pandering to smack down as bogus:
Already in this campaign, he's unveiled plans to give 95 percent of workers and their families a tax cut, eliminate income taxes for seniors making under $50,000, bring down the cost of health care for families and businesses; and create millions of new jobs by investing in the renewable energy sources.
1. 40% of the public doesn't pay any taxes, so when that leaves 60% who do, how can 95% get tax cuts?!?!? Oh, wait...he's counting the other 7 or 8 states in his 57-58-state union to get this 135% figure, isn't he?

B. How do you bring down health care costs when you're going to nationalize the whole thing? By not calling that flow of dollars out of your pocket an "insurance premium", but a "contribution" for Uncle Sam's "investment" in the socialist medical edifice?

3. How can all these jobs in alternative energy be created when The One is on record opposing drilling, nuclear, clean coal, etc.? Liberalism thrives on magical thinking, but this is the REAL WORLD, so this sh*t ain't gonna work, yo!

With the talking points with which he will be slapped about the head and shoulders with in hand, will McCain have some points ready to counter these? Tell him it's "enemy intel" - think that'll help? No, of course not! He'll bumble around, mutter something about earmarks, make a few jokes that no one will get, refuse to criticize The One for fear of being blasted as a racist, and in the end...

He...will...lose.

And so will we.

Seriously, Mac. Go big or stay the f*ck home and have Moose-Slayer top the ticket. When I can construct a simple paragraph rebutting these fascists, what the hell is your excuse? Pathetic.

1342-8: What is Obama Afraid Of?

Obama is the Messiah. He is The One. He is invincible and inevitable. Right? He's got as much money as God and uncounted zillions in in-kind contributions from the Treason Media. He is opposed by a old guy who isn't a fraction as telegenic who is cowed by the TM into not attacking his fascist goals because he'll be smeared as a racist. Life is peachy. Right?

Then why has He felt it necessary to buy 168 TIMES AS MANY ADS?!?

In the first three weeks of September, Barack Obama ran 1,342 television commercials in the Washington media market that reaches heavily populated and contested Northern Virginia.

According to The Nielsen Company, in the same period and market, John McCain aired just eight commercials on broadcast stations.

Obama’s recent purchase of two 30-minute blocks of time on two national networks — which could cost about $1 million apiece and negotiations are continuing with two other networks — has many Republicans worrying that they are up against an even bigger machine than they’d imagined.
Remember when Obama said he'd only take public financing, like McCain has? Well, he lied. He saw the money he could tap and knew that no one would hold him to account. Still, isn't this sending 50 ICBMs to swat a gnat? I mean, since The One is only waiting for the formality of his coronation, right? And why does He need all the fake ACORN voters if He's a lock?

Why Does McCain Seem To Want To Lose?

I've always half-kiddingly contended that McCain would be far happier running against a Republican than a Democrat, but as he draws closer to Election Day, his behavior is that of someone who'd rather lose in the hopes that the Treason Media return to loving him than win, be reviled, but save the nation (and the world) from the era of darkness that Obama would usher in.

On the NBC Nightly News, I caught a report full of clips of him telling supporters at rallies who were trying to snap him out of his torpor because they were afraid of what a Fuhrer Obama (well, they said President) and the chump mumbled that he thought Obama was a good man and "we have nothing to fear from a President Obama."

Pardon my French, but ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME??!?!? HELLO?!?!? EARTH TO JOHN!!! ANYONE HOME?!?!?

Power Line also wonders WTF in "A Prophet Who'd Rather Not Mention It" concerning the letter McCain and 19 other Senators signed in May 2006 warning of the current calamity if Fannie and Freddy weren't brought to heel. Nothing happened and as the PL boys explain:

After May 2006, the Democrats continued to use Fannie and Freddy as their private slush funds until the inevitable collapse, which McCain had warned against so eloquently, occurred.

For some inexplicable reason, John McCain seems unable to claim the credit he deserves for being one of the few politicians in Washington who saw the present crisis coming and tried to do something about it. He is even more unable to vigorously and unambiguously put the blame where it belongs: on the Democratic Party. Which is one of the principal reasons why, as everyone expects, he will lose in November.
He won't be the only one losing. If he slips beneath the waves without attempting to warn America of the truly evil people they will be empowering, then he'd better plan on finding another country to live because the number of Americans coming after him with pitchforks and torches will be legion. I recommend France. They'll recognize a fellow surrender monkey when they see him.

ADD-ON: Mark Steyn on The Corner (in another context) opines:
As for the "old" vs the "new" McCain, I've had little use for either, as NR subscribers who read my cover story on him from eight-and-a-half years ago might dimly recall. I support him faute de mieux, and that's it. Clearly, he's found it difficult (to put it mildly) to make the transition from running against his party to running for it. There's a lesson there: "Maverick" is an attitude, not a coherent worldview, which is why McCain has been unable to make maverickiness (maverectomy?) into a viable electoral platform. Of course, "hope" and "change" are attitudes, too, but so fluffy as to float free of the constraints of reality.

But, if the combination of gazillions of dollars in illegal foreign donations, Acorn's Dig-Up-The-Vote operation, a doting media that would embarrass Kim Jong-Il and the Republican nominee's inability even to speak up on issues where he was right all along (like Fannie Mae), if all that is now unstoppable, I will be proud to have lost with Sarah Palin, who (unlike Brooks and Buckley) runs a state bigger than most European Union nations, has fought an honorable campaign, and has been responsible for such energy and enthusiasm as the ticket can muster.

McCain vs. Obama - Round Two....FIGHT!!!

Round Two of the Presidential debates is being hyped as do-or-die for McCain because, well, because the Treason Media wants their Anointed Fuhrer in and fascism imposed upon the country. Any questions?

Regardless, this IS a big deal because after Moose-Slayer pounded Joe Biden so badly that the TM had to spin extra hard and ignore his nearly two dozen lies, fibs, and hallucinations, McCain is set to lay some hurting on the Obamessiah. In the past few days, Obama's terrorist pals have started to get some coverage and people who were blithely guzzling the CHANGE! HOPE! Kool-Aid now have had to reconcile their boredom and disgust with Dubya and the Stupid Party with the inconvenient truth that Obama may be too radical for their tastes. They want the "good" parts of socialism (i.e. "free" health care, "free" whatever), but not the bad parts (i.e. gulags, oppression).

NBC's coverage is already setting things up as McCain being a big meaniehead and the world's problems being all his faults. Tom Brokaw has picked the questions and since he's sanitized Obama's terrorist mentor, Bill Ayer, as an "educator", look for a fair and balanced batch of questions to be asked. (*COUGH*BULLSH*T*COUGH*)

Obama ducked McCain's offer to do ten of these over the summer, so let's see if McCain can use his skill edge to win. Will he be able to attack a fellow liberal? Live-blogging and updating as needed...

• Opening question is about the economy. (Duh.) Obama says this is the final verdict for the past eight years and says that Marxism is the answer. (Well, not in those exact words.) McCain totally forgets to mention that the Dems blocked Fannie/Freddie oversight that he wanted. Oy vey!!! It's gonna be a loooooooooooooong night. Gawd, how frigging hard is it to remember that you tried to stop this?!? Follow-up: Who would you name as Secretary of the Treasury? McCain had nothing much and Obama spewed more class warfare.

• OK, now that's better. On the 2nd question McCain finally mentions Freddiemac and Obama's money haul from them. Obama has a bemused smile - what's he got for a retort? A: A lot of blather and blame for free enterprise. McCain better punch back cuz it's not as if Barry's gonna be his pal in the Senate if it loses. Obama says that McCain jumped onto the bill after a year. Does McCain retort, "At least I got onto it while you were taking payola."? Nope. Gah!

• I'm gonna abbreviate their names to Mc and O if you don't mind. You know who's on the field. Work with me here.

• O says something true: Dubya has been a spendthrift. Will Mc mention that O wants to spend more? Again, NOPE! He talks about reaching across the aisle and cuddling with the Dems to get stuff done. Whoops! Spoke too soon as he mentions O's spending and earmarks. Nice, but it should've been the FIRST HALF of the answer, not the ass end.

• Drinking game for alcoholics only: Take a drink whenever Mc mentions "earmarks", "reformer", any sort of palling with Dems crap. If he says "Maverick" or "straight talk", finish the bottle and start planning to move out of the country before Fuhrer O fires up the gulags.

• The Corner is getting pounded again by traffic and so far they're thinking like I am: McCain is blowing it. These letters show the disgust of the people Mc will desperately need to show up for him. He's trying to out-liberal the most liberal member of the Senate. Rush was saying today that he doesn't understand why McCain is trying to get the mushy moderates and independents who would likely break left if left alone and here Mc is chasing them and letting O get away with murder.

• I'm tired and didn't get a nap before this thing started and I'm having a hard time focusing. Barack is spinning honeyed lies and John is babbling. Pffft.

• Brokaw didn't allow O to get a free follow-on like Gwen Ifill gave him. Boohoo. He used his next response to speak his piece, but ignored Brokaw's question to do it. Will anyone in the TM call him on it like they did to Moose-Slayer? Ooooh, McCain gets a jab in that he'll answer the question. Then he takes it back be reminding us he stabs his party in the back. Shows a little fire but doesn't go nuclear.

• Ugh. A young woman asks about ManBearPig which allows Mc to get his Gore on. Ugh again. Mentions nuke power as good and that O is against it. This is manure, but he sounds enthused for it and that may help with the voters. O really believes in ManBearPig, too, so Moose-Slayer is the ONLY one of these four who isn't certifiably infreakingsane!

• On health care, O is peddling the distortion about about Mc's tax credits for insurance vs. taxing benefits being one hand taking what the other has received. I've seen the numbers run on this and the math works out that you DO save money under the Mc plan, but it doesn't sound like it works unless you run the numbers. What have I said about well-told lies vs. badly-told truths? Exactly. Mc didn't make his own case which means O's lie wins the point.

• So far, Mc has not pinned the tail on the donkey that O is promising tax cuts for everyone, but also that he's gonna increase spending like crazy? Who's gonna pay for all this govt. largesse? Huh? After you take Bill Gates' piggy bank, how do you finance another trillion bucks in spending?!? YOU CAN'T DO IT!!!! WTF DOESN'T McCAIN ASK THIS?!?!?!?!?

Malkin's disgusted by all this. "I feel like watching the Palin/Biden debate again. How about you?"

• Now to foreign policy, O is whining about war cutting into his socialism piggy bank. More recycled lies about the money spent, blah-blah-woof-woof. Hooooooo!!!! HUGE LIE when O says that he agrees that America is the greatest nation on Earth, but catches himself and reminds his base that he thinks America is bad. Bleah.

• Brokaw asks for what the "Obama Doctrine" would be? He's mentioning Darfur and Rwanda, but those tragedies are the fault of the UN, the corrupt outfit that O would outsource our foreign policy to. If McCain doesn't smash this out of the park, I'm voting for Barr. He doesn't. Gah.

Michael Graham at The Corner:

I don't think pit bulls, with or without lipstick, can save this slow-moving chat show. When the most passion is over the clock and warning lights, you've got a real flopperoo on your hands.

I think the typical voter sees two politicians who seem reasonably competent. 90% of those voters think we're on the wrong track. So why not vote to kick Bush in the shins and elect the Democrat? What's the difference?

And, based on their performance tonight thus far, I'd have to agree.

That's where I think voters are at: Obama doesn't seem like a naive, radical, racist and terrorist-coddling, Marxist with a cult leader Messianic streak; Dubya sucks and McCain is old; why not give the new guy a shot. HOW MUCH WORSE COULD IT BE?

A: Jimmy Carter on steroids. And crack. And meth. Unfortunately, people younger than their mid-30s don't remember how terrible that gang was.

John Hood concurs:

Or you can put things very simply: every minute he failed to clearly and convincingly separate himself from President Bush, he was losing. During the past two weeks, the bottom has fallen out of the Republicans' ability to woo swing voters. It's about the economy, and the assumption that Bush is responsible for it. Having missed the best opportunity to staunch the bleeding — returning to Washington to lead the congressional opposition to the bailout plan, proposing a better alternative and demanding that an unpopular president embrace it — McCain must now seek every rhetorical opportunity to distance himself from Bush.

Sure, the campaign should also try to link Obama to unpopular congressional leaders and radical figures and ideas, but that's not the fundamental problem. Swing voters are mad and they want to vote against Bush. McCain will do.

For his part, all Obama had to do was avoid making a mistake — you know, by letting his mind wander away from the question onto matters such as who'll be the deputy Commerce secretary for widget promotion and such.

• Obama is a big honking crybaby and Brokaw had to let him have a bonus rant period to tell his garbage about "taking the ball of Afghanistan" and blah-blah-woof-woof. McCain had a decent response, but will his tepid tone connect? It's funny that the Treason Media has painted Mc has this angry, crazed, warmongering maniac because he's a total wuss when he could legitimately lay the smack down.

• Ten minutes from the end - I don't think we're going to be hearing any questions about Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Rezko, etc. (Duh.)

• McCain has a clear advantage on foreign policy, but does it matter to most voters? They're freaking out over the Dem-caused financial meltdown and worried about how to pay the bills. Obama offers Pollyanna "Don't Worry. Be Happy." platitudes and the eyewash that if only we were nicer to the mean people, they'd like us and stop being mean to us. This Kumbayah BS is exactly what got us 9/11 in the first place. People have forgotten, haven't they? Such is the power of Treason Media brainwashing. [sigh]

• Yaaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnn!!! This was a big snoozefest with neither guy making any mistakes or land any devastating blows. The spin will surely differ, but Obama lied, McCain let him get away with economic BS while trying to match up in pandering.

• HA!!! I was right cuz NBC's Chuck Todd immediately brought up the tanking markets and how this hurts Republicans. Gee, when the Treason Media goosesteps the party line that ignores that the Dems are to blame for this debacle, I guess it would play out that way. Andrea "Mrs. Greenspan" Mitchell invoked the "headwinds" for the McCain. Someone on the Corner predicted that McCain saying "that one" would be a talking point and Brian Williams delivered. Bah.

• Flipping over to PBS, a former Clinton speechwriter said that the public was the winner because there was a substantitive debate (?), didn't get into character assassination "like Sarah Palin has been doing" (?!?), and felt that the people would "vote in their interests". meaning for fascism under the O banner. Bleah. Michael Gerson calls out McCain for all the missed opportunities to point out O's terribly naive views. The Clinton guy (a black man) is subtly dealing the race card, too. What a surprise. Gerson doesn't see it that way, but he's a White Devil, so he's obviously in denial!!!

• Back to NBC, the Truth Squad was pretty noneventful, but they're working the meme about "that one" to get that racial grievance whipped up. Chuck Todd is on and he repeats it again and says that Obama's Brownshirts are already firing around the web. He also mentions how bad the Dow is declining and reminds us that McCain must suffer for the Dems sins. Andrea Mitchell is a-flutter over the Big O's closing statement for "change". Do you know what "CHANGE! HOPE!" translates to in the original German? "SEIG HEIL!!!"

• Four weeks until the Election and the only one speaking the Truth about Obama is Sarah Palin. McCain isn't getting his message out thru the Treason Media's filters and when he has the spotlight like this, he isn't stepping up to bring the noise. Obama is spending THREE TIMES as much and his ACORN cronies are rounding up homeless people to commit voter fraud in Ohio already and with conservatives already leery of McCain and only staying interested because of patriotism and Palin, the longer he shuffles along, the more likely this "humble servant's" last public act will be to deliver the United States into the hands of the fascists and communists that he once fought against and suffered under. He's got the albatross of Dubya and his worthless party around his neck, but he'll have to do a hella lot more and better to spare this nation a horrible fate.

• Bottom Line: It was a draw, but since everyone is predisposed to give the "skinny kid with a funny name" a chance, it means Obama is one step closer to becoming Fuhrer.

• I've got a busy day tomorrow and I'm not getting paid to waste time listening to the spin, so this will probably be it for the evening; I'm passing on Nightline and Charlie Rose. G'nite!

• In case you think I'm being harsh on McCain, here's what Andy McCarthy had to say:

You Guys Are Nuts

We have a disaster here — which is what you should expect when you delegate a non-conservative to make the conservative (nay, the American) case. We can parse it eight ways to Sunday, but I think the commentary is missing the big picture.

Here's what Obama needed to do tonight: Convince the country that he was an utterly safe, conventional, centrist politician who may have leftward leanings but will do the right thing when the crunch comes.

Now, as the night went along, did you get the impression that Obama comes from the radical Left? Did you sense that he funded Leftist causes to the tune of tens of millions of dollars? Would you have guessed that he's pals with a guy who brags about bombing the Pentagon? Would you have guessed that he helped underwrite raging anti-Semites? Would you come away thinking, "Gee, he's proposing to transfer nearly a trillion dollars of wealth to third-world dictators through the UN"?

Nope. McCain didn't want to go there. So Obama comes off as just your average Center-Left politician. Gonna raise your taxes a little, gonna negotiate reasonably with America's enemies; gonna rely on our very talented federal courts to fight terrorists and solve most of America's problems; gonna legalize millions of hard-working illegal immigrants.

McCain? He comes off as Center-Right .. or maybe Center-Left ... but, either way, deeply respectful of Obama despite their policy quibbles.

Great. Memo to McCain Campaign: Someone is either a terrorist sympathizer or he isn't; someone is either disqualified as a terrorist sympathizer or he's qualified for public office. You helped portray Obama as a clealy qualified presidential candidate who would fight terrorists.

If that's what the public thinks, good luck trying to win this thing.

With due respect, I think tonight was a disaster for our side. I'm dumbfounded that no one else seems to think so. Obama did everything he needed to do, McCain did nothing he needed to do. What am I missing?

Nothing, Andy. Nothing at all. Last week, conservative chatterboxes were demanding that Palin drop off the ticket to save McCain. After she whacked Biden, that noise ended. When are we going to hear calls for McCain to GTFO?

• Ended up watching Nightline and Snuffleuphagous declared Obama the winner - not unreasonable - and pointed out that Obama's calm demeanor is helping him convince voters that he'll be the stable one in a crisis.

Wasn't it only a few weeks ago when the choice of Moose-Slayer had him filling his diapers and his Brownshirts whipped into hysterical jihad against her? Then what happpened? Team McCain put her under wraps, sent her out in a straightjacket to be ambushed by Chuck and Katie, and turned her into a convenient meme for the Left. After she broke free and laid the smack down on Biden, she re-energized the race, but now that it fell to McCain to make his case, he's blown it.

It's kinda sad that the former Clinton hack (Dondi) is actually one of the straighter-shooters on this show. Matthew Dowd foisted the lie that Palin lost in top of all of McCain's failures. What else could we expect? They're bringing up Palin's sounding the alarm on Bill Ayers and Dowd spins it as desperate fear-mongering and "40 year old news when people are worried about the economy". Donna Brazile (another Dem apparatchik - where are the token non-libs?) denounced all these tactics and declared the public will punish them for daring besmirch the Obamessiah. To hear them tell it, it's going to be a landslide for fascism. [sigh]

Debunking Obama's Keating Five Smear.

For a guy who supposedly has his coronation locked up, Obama is sure acting frightened. Now that Team McCain seems to be finally mentioning The One's ties to felons, racists and terrorists, he is launching a campaign ad blitz to try and hang the albatross of the Keating Five around McCain's neck.

Since the Treason Media will merely repeat the smears instead of explaining just why McCain was lumped in with the genuinely corrupt Dems on the take, we'll just have to spread the Truth ourselves. In this case, McCain's best defender is an unlikely source: Dem lawyer Bob Bennett (brother of Bill) who defended Bill Clinton during his impeachment trial. From his book, "In The Ring, The Trials Of A Washington Lawyer," comes this quote:

After reviewing my report, the committee voted on October 23, 1990, to hold a public adjudicatory fact-finding hearing in the matter as to all five senators. This was perhaps the first time the recommendation of a special counsel not to charge a senator was rejected. This was pure politics as the Democrats on the committee did not want to cut McCain loose so that only Democrats would remain in the proceedings. If Senator McCain was not going to be cut loose, in retaliation the Republicans were going to keep Senator Glenn in the proceedings. McCain was the victim of politics, and poor Glenn was held captive to the decision on McCain. So much for nonpartisanship.
Got that? McCain didn't do anything wrong but got (and is getting) smeared because the Dems needed a patsy to mitigate their actual criminality.

What I don't understand is that after getting raked over the coals by the Dems, McCain has spent the rest of his career tonguing their sacks and snarling at conservatives. Stockholm Syndrome, perhaps?

MORE! I'd just posted the above when I saw this showing that Obama has no problem with Keating Five members...when it helps Him!
John Glenn? Senator John Glenn got caught in the same Keating 5 scandal that Obama now wants to use as an attack on McCain. The Keating 5 — Senators Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, Donald Riegle, Glenn, and McCain — stood accused of intervening with federal regulators on behalf of Lincoln Savings & Loan, which later went bankrupt and cost taxpayers $2 billion. Glenn and McCain got cleared by the Senate of any wrongdoing, but were scolded for “poor judgment” in their contacts with Charles Keating. Cranston, DeConcini, and Riegle all were found by the Senate Ethics Committee of having “substantially and improperly” interfered with the regulator (FHLBB) when it attempted to investigate Lincoln. Cranston received a formal reprimand, and only Glenn and McCain won re-election after the scandal.

Is the Keating 5 scandal a legitimate political issue in this campaign? Yes. It involves McCain’s judgment and political record, and Obama can certainly raise it as a point for voters to consider. However, McCain has never denied using poor judgment in this case and has repeatedly apologized for it.

Obama, on the other hand, has never fought anyone for reform, and the use of John Glenn as a surrogate makes Team Obama especially hypocritical in raising the Keating scandal. If Glenn is clean, then so is McCain. If McCain is tarnished, then so is Glenn. Obviously, Glenn helps Obama in Ohio, so Obama has no real complaint over the Keating 5 scandal that outweighs his desire to win the election. Like so much of Obama’s reform rhetoric, his faux outrage over the Keating 5 scandal shows him as nothing more than a poseur.
Will the media point out......ah, who am I kidding?

WAKE UP, JOHN!!! The Treason Media is Goebbels to Obama's Fuehrer!!!

On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I see that Tom Brokaw has white-washed Obama's terrorist mentor, Bill Ayers, into a mere "school reformer"; Gwen Ifill was "powerless to call Palin on her lies" while everyone else fellates the genuinely lying and/or insane Joe Biden despite his nearly two dozen whoppers; the AP is labeling Moose-Slayer's mentioning of Obama's close ties to Ayers is racist; it's been a busy morning for the Treason Media in their effort to foist Obama and the dreams of this fascism on America.

Tuesday night is the next McCain-Obama debate and poor John is going in with both hands tied behind his back and no signs of wanting the Truth to will out. Thoroughly cowed by his former constituents in the TM, Malkin reveals:

McCain continues to forbid his campaign from going after Obama for his longtime friendship and ideological partnership with Rev. Jeremiah Wright — and refuses to attack Obama on the Fannie/Freddie/CRA debacles because he fears being perceived as a racist.

Earth to McCain: They will see RAAAACISM in whatever you and Palin will say and do from now until Election Day.

Fight or get rolled.

Wake. Up.

I've been wondering why the Stupid Party and its standard bearers have continuously bumbled about allowing the TM's Big Lie tactics to cow and muzzle them. This commentary at American Thinker may hold the answer as to why: The think the Treason Media is wrongly sympathetic to the fascist Left and can be shown the errors of their biases when the TM is actually a goose-stepping, INSEPERABLE part of the Left's political machine.
I have just about had it with the conservative punditry and their plaintive wailings about the unfairness of the self-proclaimed "mainstream media" (I think the designation "Big Media" would be more appropriate as applied to the information service of the leftist elites, which is anything but mainstream).

"Where is the outrage?" "Why does the mainstream media concentrate exclusively on the failings of the right while completely ignoring the failings of the left?" "Why does the mainstream media worship at the temple of Barack Obama while brutally savaging Sarah Palin?" pitifully lament conservatives.

Will they ever learn? What makes them think that the Big Media would or, for that matter, should behave otherwise? Would any of the conservative journalists perplexed by the "unfair" attitude of the Big Media wax indignant about the German Propaganda Ministry of the 1930's spreading outrageous lies about the opponents of the Nazi regime and extolling the virtues of their beloved Fuehrer. Of course, not. They know that Dr. Goebbels' outfit was part and parcel of Hitler's government and its mission consisted in meeting the propaganda needs of the regime. Naturally, it couldn't behave in any other way; that's what it did.

Why then are they so dumbfounded by the position of the US Big Media? Don't they realize that it is every bit as partisan as the Nazi Propaganda Ministry was in its heyday? Dr. Johnson described a second marriage as the triumph of hope over experience. So too conservatives, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, desperately cling to a belief that deep in the bosom of the Big Media there lives an honest broker yearning to break free...just one more fact laid out, just one more liberal smear blown out of the water and the scales will fall off the liberal journalists' eyes. They will see the light and embark upon the path of righteousness and objectivity. This hope is as baseless as it is stupid.

Wishful thinking and willful blindness disarm, disorient and debilitate the fighter who needs to marshal all his resources for the coming battle. If he is to climb into the ring in peak form, clear-eyed appraisal of the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent is paramount. Instead, he lulls himself to sleep with false hope.

Conservatives have to realize one simple truth: the Big Media is not the enemy's ally who can be won over; it is the enemy itself. The U.S. Big Media is every bit the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party's left wing as Dr. Goebbels' organization was the propaganda arm of the Nazi regime.

The Big Media's vitriolic campaign to vilify and destroy Sarah Palin, unprecedented in its sheer viciousness, is not primarily driven by the elite's perception of her as an alien life form (although there is that, too), but by the plain fact that she endangers the prospects of their idol, Obama, and hence has to be removed by any means necessary.

The sooner the conservatives abandon their delusional belief in the innate goodness of the liberal heart and realize that the Big Media is their bitter enemy that has to be fought tooth and nail, the better their chances will be. Enough is enough. It's time for the conservatives to wake up and smell the coffee.
Conservatives have been awake all along; it's John McCain who's asleep because he isn't a conservative and has spent too much time giving reach-arounds to his "good friends" in the Senate while they stab him in the face.

Moose-Slayer is itching for the fight, but first has to get the feckless Team McCain idiots off her back. We're seeing this with McCain's noisy, stupid and clueless announcement of his surrendering Michigan to Obama's orc legions. Why announce you're giving up so loudly when it overshadowed Moose-Slayer's overwhelming smackdown of Dr. Teeth since it allowed the TM to change the subject from her win to McCain's loss. Morons.

Why Is McCain Letting the Dems Slide on Their Freddiemae Culpability?

The day after Moose-Slayer hauled his worthless ass back into the race comes some explanations as to why McCain hasn't been placing the blame for this mess squarely where it belongs: On the corrupt Dems who protected their greedy paymasters. It seems he doesn't want to be mean to his fellow liberals or some such rot.

SNIP #1: The McCain campaign is underestimating how absolutely furious conservatives are that free markets, and by extension Reaganomics and the last 25 years of American economic policy, are getting the blame for the housing and credit crisis. A real morale killer, they tell me. Over and over. Every day.
============
SNIP #2 I understand that he didn't want to get overly partisan while a delicate measure he thought was necessary was just barely making it through both houses of Congress. But there's no excuse for letting a false narrative lie, and letting Obama and Biden continue to lie about the roots of this crisis.
If not for Palin, McCain would be 15 points down in the polls and totalitarian fascism under the Obama Reich a done deal. Now that she has saved his bacon a second time, what does he do? He reverts to form and kicks conservatives in the teeth and puts the lie to all his "I'm a maverick! I'm a Reagan conservative." blah-woof.

Before the debate, some pious conservative dipwads were demanding that Palin drop off the ticket. Hey, here's an idea: HOW ABOUT JOHN McCAIN GET OFF THE TICKET SO THAT AMERICAN VOTERS WILL HAVE A CLEAR CHOICE BETWEEN A CONSERVATIVE AND THE FASCIST?!?!?

Idiot!

Gwen Ifill, Republican Wimps, and the Veep Debate

With the big debate between Moose-Slayer and Dr. Teeth a mere eight hours away, the coverage of the Treason Media is getting revved up with hopes that Palin will faceplant like she did in the gotcha ambush interviews with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric. Only this week has she been appearing on friendly conservative talk radio shows like Hugh Hewitt's and Sean Hannity's, marking an end of a period of typically inept work on the part of Team McCain. In the Hewitt interview I heard - I can't stand Hannity, so I skipped that one - she sounded sharp and quite personable. Unless you're a totally unhinged moonbat who hates conservatives and judges women by the number of abortions they've had, I don't see who could dislike her.

However for her poise in stump speeches and friendly interviews, I've gotta say that the fawning "WE LUV SARAH!" reactions I've been hearing from callers to these shows is too reminiscent of the blind adoration of the racist-Marxist-terrorist loving Obamessiah to go unmentioned here. As mean and nasty as her interrogators have been, it seems as if Team McCain sent her to the wolves without reminding her that they were out to DESTROY her and thus if she didn't know the name of the Deputy Minister of Goat Breeding in Kreplochistan, she'd better have some witty parries ready. You know how you can see "Jeopardy" contestants look like they're seething and wanting to yell, "Don't get snotty with me, Trebeck! You only know it because it's on the card!!!", when Alex snarks, "Ooooooh, sorry. The answer was Strontium. Strontium."? That's what Palin needs to have said - "I don't know that off the top of my head, but did you know that before your producer handed you that card, Katie? Do you know who the Deputy Minister of Goat Breeding in Kreplochistan is, Charlie? ANSWER ME, BITCHES!!!"

But she didn't say that and this is a continuing problem for the Stupid Party: They are terminally incapable of speaking the clear truth of the liberal Dems' fascist agenda. McCain is just too mushy inside for his liberal pals to make the case and incapable of expressing an economic policy other than "Earmarks BAD!!!" (unless they're slathered on top of a Wall Street bailout bill) and Palin has been over-programmed and held down by her Team McCain handlers.

Combined with the Treason Media's diligent propaganda efforts for Obama, the largest factor in a McCain loss will be his inability (or unwillingness) to take the fight to those who would destroy this nation if elected. As I've repeatedly mentioned, I didn't vote for Dubya in '04 because of his poor performance in his first term (including signing McCain's unconstitutional campaign speech restriction law) and, more importantly, his utter inability to properly articulate to the public the stakes at risk from Islamofascism. In a dangerous world, his tepid reactions and pronouncements have allowed the Left to frame the debate to their purposes.

NRO's Peter Kirsanow has also noticed this and wrote about it this morning:

The refrain from most of the GOP talking heads over the last twenty four hours concerning Gwen Ifill's role during the VP debate is that she's a fine journalist, who, now that the fact of her book is public knowledge, shouldn't be precluded from moderating the event. Heck, it may even work to Palin's advantage because Ifill will be under intense scrutiny to be fair and balanced.

This rationale points to the GOP's ( and, to some extent, conservatives') nearly wholesale capitulation to liberal media dominance and is one of the reasons the GOP base find themselves so frequently dispirited: no objection, no fight, no pushback to a howling conflict of interest.

We're instructed that it's perfectly understandable when all of the Democratic presidential candidates refuse to debate on Fox. But Republicans are supposed to quietly take their medicine from a moderator with a direct financial interest in an Obama/ Biden victory.

I concur that Ifill's a professional. That's not the point. Republicans will find themselves losing more and more often if they do not vigorously challenge these media travesties. And it's the right thing to do for the country. A partisan, cheerleading press is not a hallmark of a free and democratic society.

So many times we see Republicans act "gentlemanly" and turn the other cheek — to what end? It simply emboldens the media toward even greater bias. How does that serve the interests of the country? Democrat fingerprints are all over the current financial mess; Dodd and Frank were integral to the debacle, yet the GOP does nothing to counter the prevailing narrative that this is a McCain—House Republican problem—and McCain's poll numbers plummet.
HELL YEAH!!! F*CK YEAH!!! WHAT HAVE I BEEN SAYING?!?!?
The conclusion of McCain's convention speech exhorting us to "fight, fight, fight" has been quickly forgotten. There's no honor in failing to challenge brazen media bias and distortion. It does the nation no good when voters cast ballots based upon false or misleading information. Right now it looks as if the same politicians who engineered the Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac train wreck are going to win in November. The most liberal candidate with the most radical associations of any presidential aspirant in history is poised to win because the media, with virtual GOP acquiescence, has portrayed that candidate as mainstream.

The GOP seems to depend on Rush Limbaugh to correct the record, and query where we'd be without him? But the GOP better start doing it's job and forthrightly, aggressively challenge blatant media transgressions each and every time they occur. The economy's at stake. Success in the war on terrorism is at stake. The Supreme Court is at stake. Do your duty. And part of that duty is not meekly surrendering to rank media bias.
YOU HEAR THAT JOHN AND SARAH?!?!?!? Calling out the Treason Media isn't whining (unless you whine while doing it) and telling the truth about Obama's terrifying radical ties and hidden agendas is a f*cking public service! If you lose after explaining what fresh hell will be visited upon the world, then thems the breaks, but if you sit silently by because you want to be a nice guy (and gal), then you'll learn first-hand what happens to nice guys. Rush has been on fire in the first hour of his show today, laying out the Obama menace; what are you two gonna do for yourselves? Hmmmm?

The Question No One Is Asking Obama.

There's a lot of them, but this Cato @ Liberty item wonders:

Obama...received more donations from Fannie Mae in four years than any other senator (except Banking Committee chairman Chris Dodd) received in twenty years. That’s quite an accomplishment–more money from a primary creator of the financial meltdown in just four years than senior members of Congress like Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Richard Shelby, Spencer, Bachus, John Kerry, and Roy Blunt got in entire 20 years...And of course, Obama chose former Fannie Mae CEO James Johnson, who was found to have jiggered the books, to head his search for a vice president.

Shouldn’t somebody in the media ask Obama why he was Fannie Mae’s favorite senator?
F*ck the Treason Media asking, WHY THE FRAK ISN'T JOHN McCAIN ASKING THIS 20 TIMES A DAY?!?!?!? As I noted in my debate blogging, when the subject was the bailout crisis, why the hell couldn't he mention that Obama was on the take and the Dems blocked oversight?!?

Is there any question as to why the GOP is referred to as the Stupid Party?

McCain vs. Obama - Round One....FIGHT!!!

After all sorts of drama, we finally see these two go head to head. Can McCain avoid saying "my friends" a million times? Can Obama live without his TelePrompter? Live-blogging and updating as needed...

* Opening question was about the current economic problems and what to do about it. Obama opens with a well-rehearsed spiel with the usual blame Dubya stuff. Yawn. McCain has a little joke about his age, but I can see a problem already: Obama found and looked into the camera at the audience and McCain is talking to Jim Lehrer. Argh! Didn't anyone tell him about this stuff?!? Weird shoehorning of oil in the end. He's blinking a lot, too. Obama's follow-up was blah-woof.

* McCain is trying to toss in little jokes, but the audience has been commanded to not react with laughter or applause. So why bother trying to be funny?

* Earmarks up next. Obama: blah blah blah. McCain: Keeps trying to remind us that he's The Maverick. Yeah, John, got it. You gonna start telling people that the current crisis is the Dems fault or are you going to be nice to your pals who are calling you names? The people on The Corner are going nuts, like this:

PLEASE Sen. McCain [Michael Graham]

Please challenge Sen. Obama on this "tax cut for 95%" nonsense. About 45% of Americans don't even pay federal income taxes. Please!
* Heh. Someone on The Corner has suggested a drinking game where you take a belt every time McCain says "my friends". He just did it again. Good thing I have a bottle of water here.

* Tonight's debate was supposed to be about foreign policy, but it's been all economics. Considering the current events, this makes sense, but I wonder if this also allows Lehrer to not discuss Iraq and how Obama was 110% WRONG about the war. Today's Washington Post editorial actually kicked another of Obama's talking points to the curb.

* An explanation for McCain's missing all these gimmes?
Many Months Ago [Ramesh Ponnuru]

A Republican strategist told me, "John McCain is not capable of carrying an economic message on anything other than spending." Tonight that strategist is being proven right.
Hmmmmm...

* Gawd, will McCain PLEASE stop tooting his "I'm a Maverick" horn?!?!?

* Obama just trotted out his BS about Iraq and mentioned that Bush and McCain were for the war that he was against. Will McCain mention that Joe Biden also supported the war? He doesn't (D'oh!) but threw down a good list of Obama failures. Obama ummed and ahhed a bunch of whatever and McCain came back with "Sen. Obama doesn't know the difference between a tactic and a strategy." ZING!!

* Several sites have noticed that McCain calls Obama "Sen. Obama", but Obama calls McCain "John", not the properly respectful "Sen. McCain". I wonder how many people will notice this slight. They're called manners, Barry. (Heh.)

* Moving on to Afghanistan. Obama blames America for everything wrong in the area and Iraq. In other news, ponies make good brain surgeons. Obama mentions his desire to attack Pakistan and McCain comes off as the cool head consoling patience while Obama is itching for war. How does Obama get away with such Orwellian doublethink?

* How is it that I'm sitting here able to think of points that McCain can talk about that would Cuisinart Obama's empty suit but he doesn't mention them. [/goes to bang head on wall] People on the Corner are noticing too:
This Cannot Stand [Michael Graham]

Sen. McCain cannot let the "Al Qaeda is stronger than ever" line go unchallenged. It's simply not true and it's an insult to the forces in Iraq.
* And now for something completely different...Jessica Alba in a bikini only FOUR MONTHS after having her spawnling!

MILFtastic!!!!

* Talking about Iran, Obama said...oh, I wasn't listening. It was probably lies and McCain won't knock them down. Based on McCain's reply, he didn't. Obama is regurgitating his...man, it's hard to believe Alba is so buff. She's such a doll. Can't act, but a sweetie. What's Obama yammering on about? Oh, the need to talk to despots. Will McCain mention how JFK's pwning in Vienna led to the Cuban Missile Crisis? Nope, he didn't, but he got a couple of good shots in. Still, he's missing a lot of gaping openings to knock him out.

* Man, I'm getting bored of this. I'm not hearing anything new. Will....oh, jeez, Obama just told the lie about "loose nukes". Will McCain call him out? Survey says.........BZZZZZZZTT!!!!! Jeez....

* McCain has repeatedly said, "I don't think Sen. Obama understands..." Good move, because it's not directly condescending because he's talking to the audience. If he said, "YOU don't understand...", he'd come off as a dick.

* Obama just tossed out the "The whole world hates us and I'm make them love us" talking point. McCain's reply? Nothing. I need to find another spot of wall to bang my head against. Obama is harping on Iraq and all the socialism that can't be spread upon this land because we're fighting there and not dying here. McCain hits the understanding meme again and calls Obama "rigid" and stubborn and not ready.

* Obama invoked his father (who abandoned him when he was 2) saying that the old man wrote that America was a land of opportunity. Is that why he went back to Africa?

* Overall, I call this a draw because McCain didn't stuff a lot of lies back down Obama's throat. The PBS panel are attacking McCain for not showing the Messiah the proper deference. Mostly they think both did OK and, more importantly, Obama looked Prez-y enough. Jeez. I could be playing Rock Band 2 and GTA IV. Get this over with!!!

Media Bias? What Media Bias?!?

Nothing to see here. Move along:

Here’s all you need to know about the state of the elections…

A tally of name appearances at 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, September 16, on the ABC News website at “The Blotter from Brian Ross and The Investigate Team”

Palin: 24
McCain: 2
Biden: 1
Obama: 0

One is tempted, and I think I will, to use the “Send Tips to Brian” link in the upper right of the page to let him know that not only is Sarah Palin not running for President, but I have heard Barack Obama might be….
Just goes to show just how deep the Treason Media's OCD runs. Their Anointed One MUST win and if that means turning a blind eye to everything about him in order to protect him, so be it.

Behind the McCain/Treason Media Divorce

Rich Lowery gives a peek into why the Treason Media no wonger wuvs Johnny Maverick. (Hint: He's not in the right party):

A crucial turning point in the presidential race came when the McCain campaign ended its candidate's habitual informal interactions with the press. The area of the McCain campaign plane where a couch had been installed so the Arizonian could hold court with journalists was cut off with a dark curtain, marking the end of an era.

Since 2000, John McCain had thrived on his irrepressible chattiness with the press, talking about anything reporters wanted for as long as they would listen. The press loved the access and avoided "gotcha" coverage, letting McCain explain any seeming gaffes. The arrangement worked beautifully for both sides -- until McCain became the Republican presidential nominee.

Suddenly, he wasn't afforded the same old courtesy from reporters, and he had to go about the grim business of driving a daily message. With the end of the running bull sessions, a trial separation began with the press that became a divorce that became a feud.

The enduring scandal of the McCain campaign is that it wants to win. The press had hoped for a harmless, nostalgic loser like Bob Dole in 1996...The press turned on McCain with a vengeance as soon as he mocked Barack Obama as a celebrity. Its mood grew still more foul when the McCain campaign took offense at Obama's "lipstick on a pig" jab. "The media are getting mad," according to Washington Post reporter Howard Kurtz. "Stop the madness," urged ABC News' Mark Halperin, exhorting his fellow journalists to fight back against the McCain campaign's manufactured outrage.

What has truly driven the media batty is McCain's selection of Sarah Palin. The first days after her announcement brought gross misreporting and personal smears; followed by a Charlie Gibson interview during which the newscaster appeared disgusted that he even had to talk to such a lowly and unworthy personage; followed by front-page Washington Post and New York Times reports on her tenure in Alaska that were so hostile they left it a mystery why she has an 86 percent approval rating as governor.

Palin will forever be a target. A pro-life, pro-gun evangelical with five kids, Palin has made the election even more into a culture war than it was before. Not only do national journalists resent that, they are, as urbanites and self-styled sophisticates, largely on the other side of that war as a matter of lifestyle and conviction. Because cultural matters cut so close to the core, it is nearly impossible for them to hide their allegiance.

Whatever affection they still have for McCain is now expressed in self-interested yearning: Where is the McCain of old, the one who could be reliably counted on to lose?
Why was McCain so surprised? I could've told McCain this years ago and have posted about this here. His utility to the Treason Media and their kindness to him would only last until he became a threat to their natural allies in the Dem party.

McCain Gets Barrack-Rolled!

When I was live-blogging McCain's acceptance speech, I remarked about the video wall, "With the solid blue and green backgrounds, I wonder how long it'll be before someone chroma keys weird stuff behind him. (Heck, I want to put him in Dagobah!)"

Axe and ye shall getteth!

CFE: Politico Goes After McCain

THE BACKGROUND: Politico has another in their increasingly partisan hit pieces pushing the Obama talking points, this time that ol' McCain is getting mean and it's such a shame that he's saying mean things about that nice Obamessiah. Tsk tsk. Please. My reply:

Did the Politico crew sleep with pods given to them by the MSNBC crew at the DNC because the past couple of weeks have been a pretty jarring lurch to the left for this site. I used to enjoy its even-handed approach, but it's clearly gone to the Obama side and it is now merely repeating Obama talking points almost verbatim. Even Dennis Miller was remarking about it recently.

That McCain is "soiling his reputation" shows the Goebbels-worthy methods of the Treason Media: "You do as we say or we'll tell everyone you're a dirty poopy-head and no one will like you. Neener neener!" When McCain was routinely selling out conservatives and stabbing his party in the back, he was the golden boy of the media, but the moment he started acting as a Republican seeking to defeat a Democrat for office, suddenly the hand-wringing began and the worries that McCain was soiling himself - gee, is that supposed to make us think he wears adult diapers? - appear in print.

I always thought McCain was a naive schmuck for believing that the Treason Media would stick by him when he was actually up against their Democrat allies for the Oval Office. Now that the facade of the Obamessiah is starting to crumble like cheap Styrofoam columns, his disciples are frantically trying to drag him over the finish line.

Will Big Mac Supersize Himself? (RNC Night 4)

Live-blogging and updating as needed...

Before this gets going, a couple of thoughts about the past day's events. First, as awesome as Sarah Palin was, the fact remains that all we've really seen of her is two public speeches. Who knows how she'll do in a gotcha press conference where if she doesn't know who the Acting Associate Deputy to the Assistant Undersecretary of Interior Basketweaving Ministry for Kreplochistan, she'll be labeled "Dan Quayle in a skirt" and howled off the stage? (Nevermind that Obama can't think without a TelePrompter.) Until we see her under fire and in the debate against the Plagiarist, I think a little restraint would be prudent. Naturally, if she takes down all challengers like a caribou in season, then by all means, let's get crazy!

For McCain, the task is to not appear that he's older than Methuselah and clueless to the simpering zeitgeist of whining Americans who ARE in a "mental recession." People have been rewarded for being stupid with their housing choices and those who paid their bills are feeling like fools for doing the right thing. Unfortunately, today's mewling public is looking for freebies from government to provide succor for their follies and the Dems are more than willing to offer up the wealth of producers in a brightly-colored fascism-flavored shell. McCain needs to tell these moochers to suck it up, but probably won't.

I hope he doesn't tell his Nam war stories again for the zillionth time. Everyone else has told his story and we get it - time for what he's going to do in the next four years, not what happened nearly 40 years ago. I hope he doesn't feel the need to share his enthusiam for rewarding invaders, preach about his membership in the Church of ManBearPig, and bash Big Whatever in the hopes of sounding as liberal as his opponents. A choice, not an echo, is an old slogan and Americans really deserve a real choice between freedom-cherishing conservatism and fascist liberalism.

• The PBS panel is pontificating that McCain needs to tell the conservatives in the party to STFU and try to appeal to the moderates and independents who are pretty much sworn to Obama this time around. Not 24 hours after the Moose-Slayer fired up this crowd and the country, they're demanding he make moves that would put him back in the dumps where he was a week ago. They keep harping on the meme that po' widdle Mac wanted the wrong-about-everything-but-the-war Joe Lieberman on the ticket, but the mean ol' con-swerve-a-tives made him go against his wishes and put that nasty conservative on instead. Well, of course they'd like that, wouldn't they?

• The first half hour has been dull white people making bland speeches about whatever. I haven't been paying attention, but caught about 75 mentions of his war wounds. Yawn...

• They showed a short film about 9/11 that laid out that Islamofascism was at war for us for decades, since 1979, before that Tuesday morning. They didn't mention Clinton's feckless non-response and only implied the message that McCain would keep us safe. PBS followed up with Pew polls that show that people are more concerned about the economy than terrorism. Unmentioned is the sad fact that due to the success of Dubya's security policies, we haven't been attacked and since we haven't been hit again, it allows the people to go, "La-de-da, I sure think that Obama fellow is cute and we need a change. What's the harm?" Plenty, idiots.

• Lindsey Graham is on now pounding Obama's blind opposition to victory in Iraq. It sounds like they're going to mine the "I'd rather lose a campaign than lose a war" line even more. Unfortunately, people want to hear about what he'll do about the price of groceries more. They'd better tack back to that, too. Graham was blah and he's an invader rewarder, too, so screw him.

• They finally ran the video about Moose-Slayer. Nice, but rote. I need to take a trip to Alaska sometime. My mom always wanted to go for a cruise.

• Tom Ridge, another pro-abortion pal of McCain's who was teased as a Veep possibility, is out now boring me stupid talking about McCain's dedication. The crowd doesn't seem enthused much and I'm not either. Jeez, all these guys are dull and would've been pure death as running mates. Palin was a brilliant choice, but as I wondered last night, can the top of the ticket get some sparks going?

• Intro film for Cindy McCain was enlightening. I new about her charity work, but it was news to me that she was into car racing and had "a mother/son drift racing team." Why the hell haven't they shown her doing this?!? Moose-Slayer is hawt because she's badass naughty librarian, so can you imagine what a tall, blonde rich chick with a beer warehouse who races cars would do for the image?!? Jeez, are these campaign people morons?!?!? (Well, yeah...) Her talk was a little beauty queen plasticish and ran long. Energy lulling even though it's noble what she's talking about. (I'm catching up on videogame news now.)

• The McCain intro film opened heavily with his war record, but added film of him in captivity that the oral accounts lacked. It also shows that he was a handsome mofo 35 years ago. This is all redundant to anyone who's been watching, but I suppose this is aimed at John and Jane Q. Public who are just tuning in for the first time.

• Jeez, here we go again. Some asshole protester has crashed the arena and is waving a big sign reading, "YOU CAN'T WIN AN OCCUPATION". Again I ask, how many Republican protesters crashed the Denver Nuremberg Rally? The guy is still in the rafters, yelling and triggering chants of "U-S-A-!" from the crowd. In this supposedly speech-chilled land, how come this guy is free to be a jerk? Lucky for him, Mac wants to close Gitmo. (I'd waterboard the f*cker.) Oh, look, another one. Mac grins it off. This is getting ridiculous. How the hell did so many protesters get in or are they all MSNBC staffers?

• He tossed a nice shoutout to Obama, treating him as if he wasn't a fascist death cult leader. Spare me. I know, I know...take the high road, but sometimes being polite is stupid.

• McCain called out the Republicans who got corrupted by power - "We lost their trust." - and then followed up with his stupid "God's Children" blather regarding invaders. You're mixing your message, pal. So far, nothing specific. The full text of speech is here. Let me take a peek and see if anything other than "We're cool" bromides. BRB...

• OK, I'm back and there's not much and, sadly, he's going to tell the story of his captivity in Hanoi. Again. Perhaps it's meant to fill in the people just tuning in, but it's been done to death. Expect wags to put this up with the cracks about John Kerry, "who served in Viet Nam, by the way."

• An interesting passage:

When I was five years old, a car pulled up in front of our house. A Navy officer rolled down the window, and shouted at my father that the Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor. I rarely saw my father again for four years. My grandfather came home from that same war exhausted from the burdens he had borne, and died the next day. In Vietnam, where I formed the closest friendships of my life, some of those friends never came home with me. I hate war. It is terrible beyond imagination.

I’m running for President to keep the country I love safe, and prevent other families from risking their loved ones in war as my family has. I will draw on all my experience with the world and its leaders, and all the tools at our disposal - diplomatic, economic, military and the power of our ideals - to build the foundations for a stable and enduring peace.
Does this sound like a man who wants "endless war", as the hysterical ninnies of the Left shriek? The Left has bashed Dubya for not having seen real combat - "chickenhawk" ring a bell - and said that he was too cavalier in sending other off to war. They claimed that John Kerry would be smarter because he had a few paper cuts in Nam, but now that a man who has genuinely suffered the ravages of war is in the running, it's no way, Jose! He's a WARMONGER! Why the flip? Hmmmm...could it be that he's the wrong party? Duh. Clinton's draft dodging was noble and Bob Dole's war-ruined body was just old. Only the history of the Dem matters.

• OK, the war stuff played better than it read. It showed McCain as a humble patriot who learned to appreciate his country in trying circumstances. But I think this is going to strike a chord with those not in thrall to the Obamessiah's spell because Obama's smug arrogance, borne of believing his own hype and fed by the Treason Media, is off-putting to anyone not in the market for a Messiah.

• The post-show reax on PBS are more positive than mine except for Mark Shields who just hated it because he's a lefty. Phony token conservative David Brooks kinda sorta disagreed.

• It's hard to remember that this shindig only ran three days - shortened by the mediocre hurricane Gustav - because it felt like five. Whoever designed this video wall stage needs to be run out of show biz. People all over are complaining about how goofy it looks and I agree. With the solid blue and green backgrounds, I wonder how long it'll be before someone chroma keys weird stuff behind him. (Heck, I want to put him in Dagobah!)

• Nightline showed this website where you can get signs for the ticket:

Cute, if silly. More fun than this one for sure.

They also showed all the fat cat parties that both the Dems and Stupids held. Surprisingly, they really concentrated on the Dems, including Pelosi's ultra-rich-only penthouse bash. Since the Dems control Congress, they're getting the most grease, but I can only surmise that Brian Ross calling out this phony "party of the little guy" was mostly due to the stormtrooper tactics used against their producer, footage of which was shown.

• Charlie Rose's wrap-up was uneventful, I'm tired with a busy weekend, and a rain front is blowing my TV signal around, causing drop outs. G'nite.
